Panshanger & The U10 Lions
Hello all, I just wanted to say a few words as a farewell message to everyone at the club, the parents and of course the Lions. I want to firstly say a Special Thanks to everyone at the club for your continued support over the years and for giving me the opportunity to get involved in coaching youth football and in very good coaching conditions (I know I didn’t always make it easy!). I have met so many good and inspirational people and none more so than the Lofts. The late Chris Loft coached my child in his younger years and worked very well with all the children, he was my role model when offered the opportunity to start coaching, he helped me understand how to work well with the children and coach in the right way, whilst Nickola Loft was always there to support and guide me through any tough patches I might have had and always made sure I was well informed and on my toes. I want to also thank Lee Jones for being Lee Jones basically, he’s quite a character and a pleasure to know, I would also like to thank Angie Bell, ‘Big’ Dave Eames, Mike Banissy, Mandy Bassett, Kerry Reed, Tina Cooper and Fiona Reed and every manager I have had the pleasure to meet and anyone I have met along the way.
Since taking charge of the Lions 3 years ago, I have considered myself to be the lucky one, as every child that I have had the pleasure to coach, have left me with not only fond lifetime memories but also the opportunity to have, what has been a life changing experience. Firstly, a Special Thanks to each and every U7, U8, U9 and U10 Lions parent, for it has been your consistent and enthusiastic support for the Lions that has made it as enjoyable as it has been, undoubtedly you have also left me with some fantastic and unforgettable memories. The Lions that I have had the privilege to coach over the years have helped me grow and develop as a Coach, Person, Dad and more. None more so than the current crop of Lions, to be able to witness what these Lions have achieved over the years has been simply incredible, these Lions have grown beyond anything I could have imagined and in turn has inspired me to follow my new career path as a youth football coach. To see the team captain taking his team through their pre training/match warm up, paints a perfect picture to how much respect these Lions have for each other. And of course, the biggest Thanks must go to Jodie Henderson as Jodie has been simply untouchable and the words simply haven’t been made up yet to describe how much help Jodie has been to me each and every year but I think Perfect, seems to be the closest.
